Message	That said, if they offer you $3800 and the shop starts repairs and in the end, your car is repaired and it cost $5500, you're not going to be stuck footing the difference. They have to cover repairs. Remember, you're dealing with the other party's insurance carrier, which does not have any of your interests in mind. If you're concerned enough about it, call your own carrier and tell them you want it fixed and they'll handle it for you. That's why you have insurance.
